9th Grade Awards Breakfast
9th Grade Awards Breakfast - Wednesday, May 31 at 8:15 a.m. in the Commons.á
All 9th graders are invited and breakfast will be provided.á Parents are also invited to attend.á Parents who wish to attend are asked to RSVP to the school secretary at 801-264-7442 by May 24 so that adequate food can be ordered.á
During the breakfast, the 9th grade students will be recognized for their participation in academics, activities, attendance, and citizenship while at Hillcrest Jr. High School.á Students will return to class after the breakfast or may be checked out of school for the day by their parents after the breakfast.

8th Grade Promotion Activity
8th Grade Promotion Activity - Wednesday, May 31 from 11:15 a.m. - 1:40 p.m. at the Murray Outdoor Pool.á Pizza and drinks will be served.á
In order to be eligible to attend the 8th grade promotion activity, students must have passing grades (no F's) in Math, English, Science, and USáhistory during their 8th grade year in terms 1, 2, 3 and be passing at midterm in term 4.á All fines must also be paid.á Students who are not eligible to attend will stay at school and work with their 8th grade teachers.
7th Grade End-of-Year Activity
á7th Grade End-of-Year Activity - Wednesday, May 31 from 12:30 - 1:40 p.m.
Students who have no failing grades or U's in citizenship, and no fines as of May 26 will be treated to pizza, a movie, and creamies!á Students who are not eligible to attend the activity will be assigned to a class to work with their 7th grade teachers.
Suicide Prevention
Image result for suicide preventionThe Utah State Board of Education and Murray School District have asked schools to make parents aware of the trending Netflix Series 13 Reasons Why.áá The series is based on a student who takes her own life.á

If a student wants to watch the series, parents are encourage to watch it with them due to the graphic content, language and story line glamorizing suicide. If a student has already watched the series or will be watching the series with a parent, we recommend that parents review the Talking Points located below.á School counselors are available to answer any questions parents may have, as well as meet with students on an individual basis.á
